Do fruto, o Futuro
“Do fruto, o Futuro” surge como uma procura infinita de respostas, entre o passado (maçã), o presente (a totalidade da peça, centrada na ação da personagem), e o futuro (a borboleta). A maçã é onde tudo começa, representa a natureza morta da obra que serve de inspiração (“Natureza – morta, de Pieter Claesz) e que de onde parte um simbolismo não tão óbvio ao olhar. Tal como o cenário na pintura , a maçã representa prosperidade, uma vez que é dela que parte a lagarta que se transforma em borboleta. A personagem encontra-se num presente ora instável, ora equilibrado, onde carrega o passado numa mão e o futuro no braço oposto. Em contraste com a obra de Claesz, uma borboleta de tamanho irreal (outrora uma lagarta insignificante, ou pouco relevante). Pretende assim simbolizar a infinitude de possibilidades de um presente que ainda vai acontecer, em tom de mistério, representativo da atualidade, num mundo em constante alerta para o desconhecido. Na roupa da personagem surgem plantas, que configuram um sinal de esperança nesta passagem fugaz do tempo.

Do fruto, o Futuro
“Do fruto, o Futuro” emerges as an infinite search for answers, navigating between the past (the apple), the present (the entirety of the piece, centered on the character’s action), and the future (the butterfly). The apple is where it all begins — representing the still life that inspired the work (“Still Life” by Pieter Claesz) — and from which a subtler symbolism unfolds upon closer observation.
Much like the setting in the painting, the apple symbolizes prosperity, as it gives rise to the caterpillar that eventually becomes a butterfly. The character exists in a present that is at times unstable, at times balanced — holding the past in one hand, and the future on the opposite arm.
In contrast with Claesz’s work, the butterfly here is unrealistically large — once an insignificant, perhaps overlooked caterpillar. It serves as a symbol of the infinite possibilities held within a present moment that has yet to unfold. Wrapped in a sense of mystery, it reflects the present age — a world constantly on alert for the unknown.
On the character’s clothing, plants appear as signs of hope, quietly marking this fleeting passage of time.
