Superfície coberta por uma perfusão de flores e folhas, em relevo, densamente agrupadas, sobrepondo-se umas às outras, cobertas por múltiplas camadas de tinta criando texturas; desligadas do corpo central da peça, destacam-se duas flores caídas, de pétalas encurvadas, murchas. Contornando as flores e por elas encoberto surge o movimento sinuoso do corpo cilíndrico de uma serpente.
A partir da observação do quadro proposto, dois elementos ganharam destaque: a borboleta, pela sua beleza e fragilidade e as sobras de alimentos, apontando para o excesso e curta durabilidade.
Foi deste ponto de partida que surgiu a escola dos elementos para criação da escultura.

The outer layer of the sculpture is covered with a dense grouping of flowers and leaves, standing out in reliefs and covered by multi-layered paint to create a textured aspect; detached from the focal point of the sculpture but still connected there are two fallen flowers, petals curling inward, wilted. You can also disclose the winding movement of a snake’s cylindrical body, coiling around the flowers and hidden among them.
After examining the recommended painting two elements stood out: the butterfly, for its beauty and fragility and the leftovers pointing to overabundance and Im the end decay.
This was how my project came out and how I selected the objects and tried to create a meaningful composition.

Sandra Bourbon was born in Coimbra but lives in Porto. She’s an operacional manager.
For ever a cerâmica lover she has felt a powerful drive to embrace art creation since 2021. So she engaged herself in artistic activities, mostly sculpting.
Her work is deeply motivated by nature above all forms and textures of flowers, leaves, stones, funge and animals.
Each piece of art embodies traits of natural world’s components disclosed through organic lines, gentle reliefs and a range of earthy multi-sensory colours.
