Isto não é uma “Natureza Morta”
Partindo da observação da obra de Pieter Claesz, artista Barroco e como tal o gosto pelo “horror do vazio”, escolhi alguns elementos da preferência do artista, como os limões que se apresentam nas mais diversas facetas, em muita da sua obra; os frutos secos, os ramos de videira e as uvas. Aparentemente sem preocupação de ordem, os elementos surgem em aglomerados como se fossem atirados arbitrariamente sobre a toalha de linho branco, que servirá de pano de fundo onde se desenrola a ação. O limão que se destaca no cenário em negro metálico, homenageia o artista que os representou até à exaustão.

This is not a “still life”
Based on my observation of the work of Pieter Claesz, a Baroque artist with a taste for the “horror of emptiness”, I chose some of the artist’s favorite elements, such as the lemons that appear in many different forms in many of his works; the dried fruits, the vine branches and the grapes. Apparently without any concern for order, the elements appear in clusters as if they were thrown arbitrarily onto the white linen tablecloth that will serve as the backdrop for the action. The lemon that stands out against the metallic black backdrop pays homage to the artist who depicted them to exhaustion.

Nasceu em Janeiro de 1950 em Vila Pery vivendo na cidade do Porto desde 1953. Ingressou na ESBAP, no curso de Pintura, em 1969 concluindo a licenciatura em 1974. Professora aposentada de EV. Dedica-se a Pintura e Cerâmica desde 1974. Participou em numerosas exposições de pintura e cerâmica e na bienal internacional cerâmica de Aveiro. I was born in January 1950, in Vila Pery, Moçambique. I moved to Oporto in 1953, and I live there since then. I studied in Escola Superior de Belas Artes do Porto, Painting (1969-74). I was an art teacher in the school and an artist in Painting and Pottery since 1974. Retired teacher of EV. She has dedicated herself to Painting and Ceramics since 1974. She has participated in collective interviews on painting and ceramics and in the international ceramics biennial of Aveiro. Public panels: Centro Oita – Aveiro; Sheraton hotel – Porto; Centro Orion-Felgueiras.
